In this versatile R&D position you will be responsible for the implementation, unit testing and documentation of embedded software, the conceptualisation and technical specification of new products or new functions, maintenance and extensions of firmware of existing products (communications systems and electrical devices) and last but not least the Software error correction within an agile development environment. Additional tasks are the technical support of marketing, application technology (requirements elaboration), electronic design, customers, production, the support and maintenance of development infrastructure and an international collaboration and information exchange with engineers from other internal and external teams. As development engineer you will be embedded within an international R&D team with approximately forty development engineers based in Switzerland, India, Germany and United Kingdom and will interfacing to the global requirements team, the validation team, the electronic designers, project engineers and some microcontroller suppliers on occasion.

For this role we are looking for a skilled Sr. FW/SW Developmer with several years experience in the field of FW and object oriented / embedded software engineering, ideally within the metrology, electrical devices and communication systems technology. You are to be known as a self-driven expert with an international spirit added by hands-on mentality, methodical approach and the ability to prioritize and manage work to critical project timelines. In addition to your analytical and conceptual skills you are detail-oriented and pro-active with strong interpersonal communication skills. We expect a university degree in an engineering discipline, e.g. computer science, information technology or electrical engineering, added by a good knowledge in C/C++ object oriented programming, debugging and Real Time Operation Systems. An interested junior could also be an option as the team is rather experienced in average. Knowledge in agile development or motivation to work in an agile team is highly requested. You bring along good solving skills and are able to communicate in English and German; any other language would be an advantage.
