Analysis & Characterisation Engineer Semiconductors (m/f)
As an Expert in failure analysis and material / surface characterisation act as an important interface between the operational epitaxy, manufacturing line, R&D and the characterisation team. You are responsible for analysis of all epitaxial materials and layer-structures to support the domestic team in Zurich and other business units throughout the whole organisation around the world (Europe, US, Asia). As a senior you will lead projects to improve stability, quality, throughput, process development, and novel analysis methods. Furthermore you will be responsible for quality and in time delivery of SIMS / ToF-SIMS measurements, the Maintenance and utilization of SIMS system to the best performance and throughput level as well as the CI continuous improvement of existing processes and equipment as well as developing innovative new approaches. Step by step you will provide analytical support to other departments through sample preparation, data collection, failure mode analysis, and making reports and suggestions for improvements
For this challenging position we are looking for an experienced Scientist / Engineer with several years of experience in materials analysis and characterisation, ideally in the field of semiconductor materials, thin film technology, semiconductor fabrication and advanced material characterisation. You are familiar with SIMS or ToF-SIMS and advanced characterisation instrumentation such as SEM, TEM, FIB and /or XPS added by proficiency in statistics and quality management tools and maybe some experience in programming, e.g. Python, LabView, SQL or C++. We expect a university degree (MSc / PhD) in physics, chemistry or material science, ideally with emphasis on material science or process technology. In addition to your analytical and organisational abilities, you are known to be a very reliable team player and self-driven individual with a hands-on mentality, methodical approach and the ability to strongly prioritize issues. We expect a university degree in business administration, commerce and/or trading/supply chain. English is a must. Good German skills are of a huge advantage.
